My husband, Gary Larreategui, and I want to leave part of our estate to organizations important to us. When considering various worthy organizations, we looked for ones that share our passions, have a clear mission, will stay true to that mission but be willing to evolve with changing times without deviating from core values, and will endure.

The Indianapolis Zoo meets all of our criteria. It is passionate about animal protection and conservation. The Indy Zoo has evolved with the times in programming and design without compromising their mission or deviating from their core values. The visitor experience at the Zoo is amazing.

The Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center says it all about the Indianapolis Zoo’s ability to envision something great and inspire the local, national, and international community to rally together and make a difference in the survival of a species.

We want to see animals and the environment thrive, and we take seriously the challenge “if not you, then who?” We are confident the Indianapolis Zoo will be good stewards of the resources we leave to them, and that’s important to us.
